31 Days of the Spending Fast. Coming to a computer near you. {Day 1}

Usually I blog once a month because WHO HAS THE TIME? People make time for things they love to do. I like blogging. More than blogging, I like to write, hold my babies, and laugh at my life (because, how else?) Blogging, I'm still not sure. The verdict is out. The blog-o-sphere is such a big, friendly place. I'm just never sure if there's room for me at this mega table. And I don't really have the energy at this point in my life to fight for a place (or have a picture for every blog post-- WHO HAS THE TIME?!)

But people make time for the things that give them life, and maybe I could love blogging if I dive in. Either way, I only have 3 months left (can you EVEN?) of my spending fast. So I am partaking in The Nester's 31 Day challenge to blog about one topic every day for 31 days.
So HELP join me.

What would you love to learn about my year long spending fast? Any questions? Suprise! Your question will be answered with a day long post of my answer. If there are no questions, there will be no answers and I will ramble. Every day for 31 days. Being a baby-blog, I will start having a daily audience in the negative's but I can handle that-- because, WHO HAS THE TIME to read a blog every day? I am barely remembering to brush my teeth over here people.

Welcome.

Converse.

Bless you.

And because every blog post has to have a picture (even if it is an unedited iphone one)-- here is one of my MANY photos of me almost buying something at the Gap. I have a zillion of these on my phone. It's going to be a great 31 days.

  3. This might sound dumb but one of the things I love to do to get some time to myself is go to a coffee shop. And I hate to think of giving that up. How do you make time for yourself without spending money and how do you make it feel as if you are treating yourself?

    I think this sounds like a great idea of October posting.

    1. No Juliet that is not dumb at all and I feel that way often! That was a very hard thing for me to learn, as whenever I got a break I went to a coffee shop to spend time alone. To be honest, I have a surplus of Starbucks' gift cards for my birthday so I use those! Before my birthday when I did not have gift cards, I had gotten really good at making my own fancy drinks and coffee shops don't care if you bring your own. This is pathetic but sometimes I would bring my own tea bag and just ask for a mug of hot water-- cheapskate!

  4. How do you handle gift giving?

    1. Gift giving is the hardest- I will write a post on this, but honestly since the spending fast started I tend to overcompensate in this area, since it's not restricted. So if you get married or have a baby this year, you're in luck-- I will be transferring my desire to shop into picking out your present. Yipee!

  5. Ooooo, I am so excited about this!! I can't believe you are able to still go to the mall at all, that is amazing will power. I would buy something for sure if I went, and tried stuff on!! Ive loved following you through this. What has been the hardest parts? What has been the best? Have you saved a lot of money, or just spent it in other areas? I will probably have more, I will add them later:)

  6. This is so awesome! I want to know: what was the worst part, what was the best part? How did you keep track of all the money you saved by not spending, for me it would be a thrill to see at the end of the month, how much we had left over. Did you move your surplus to savings or pay off debt?
